What are provinces? When do they meet?
The dioceses of the Episcopal Church are united into nine Provinces as mandated by General Convention under Title I, Canon 9.1-10.

Canon 9.4 states that:

“There shall be in each Province a Synod consisting of a House of Bishops and a House of Deputies, which Houses shall sit and deliberate either separately or together. The Synod shall meet on a regular basis as determined by each Province for the purpose of organizing and carrying out the responsibilities of the Province as provided in the Canons.”

Provincial Representatives of the Standing Commission on Ministry Development meet annually with Bishops, Commissions on Ministry, Deployment Officers, seminaries, and other agencies of the Church involved in issues of concern to Commissions on Ministry.
