Undercroft
A large room or area beneath a church building. It may be used as a space for prayer, church meetings, Christian education classes, or other church purposes. Some cathedrals or other large church buildings have vaulted crypts in a subterranean room. Some modern church buildings have a columbarium or chapel in the undercroft.
