Speaker's Guild
[Episcopal Relief and Development] Speaker’s Guild

The Speaker’s Guild is a small group of volunteers and staff who are available to speak about the mission and programs of ERD. They come from all walks of life, are dedicated supporters of this organization and possess varying degrees of experience with our programs. All members come with an extensive knowledge of the history of ERD and are equipped to share our current goals and vision with your parish or group.

Can an ERD representative visit my church on Sunday?
Yes. Our Guild consists of clergy and talented lay preachers. We are able to preach at Sunday worship and present adult forums. Some members are available for youth presentations, regional meetings and diocesan conventions as well.

How can I schedule a visit?
Please call or e-mail Director of Church Relations, the Rev. Kedron Jarvis, at 212-716-6355, kjarvis@er-d.org to request a speaker.  You can also download the Speaking Event Request Form and send it by mail.

What is the process?
When you request a speaker, please have specific dates in mind that work for your group or parish. ERD will make every effort to accommodate your request and when a speaker is secured, we will put you in direct contact with the speaker. Remember, these are volunteers and your help in covering mileage and hotel costs are greatly appreciated. A special offering or gift to ERD is also appropriate. We also hope that you will publicize the event in your parish or local newsletters and by word of mouth. We will provide you with a short bio of the speaker and any information about ERD you would like.

What if a Guild member is not available?
Our guild is small and we many not be able to meet your needs. In this case, we will offer you a short video presentation on ERD and will be happy to send you any printed materials that may aid your work. A list of frequently asked questions is on our web site and that may guide you through making a short presentation of your own.
