My YASC placement was in Harare, Zimbabwe, from January to August of 2001. My work was primarily as a lecturer at Bishop Gaul Theological College, the Anglican Seminary for Zimbabwe. At Bishop Gaul, I taught a seminar course on the Theology of Forgiveness and Reconciliation. Soon after arriving in Zimbabwe, I was also asked to teach the same course at another seminary, Domboshawa House, a larger, ecumenical seminary, also located in Harare. Beyond my work as a lecturer, I also had the opportunity to become involved in the daily community at Bishop Gaul. As part of that involvement, I assisted the school’s choir in getting an album of Anglican hymns produced and recorded. It is my understanding that the proceeds from the Album have been used to supplement the school’s budget.
