"I worked in the Diocesan office in Xalapa, Veracruz. I arranged short-term mission trips, wrote grants (to build clergy housing, air hurricane recovery, and train clergy and laity), administered the Diocesan Office, worked with our companion diocese to create a cattle ranch, and actively participated at St. Mary's Anglican Church. I was usually the only person in the office because the Bishop travels a lot. When the Bishop was away from the office, I was his eyes, ears, and mouth.

"I worked with the Diocese of Chicago to set up an education fund for young people in our diocese who would like to go to seminary. Currently, seminary is funded mostly by the student and his/her family with a portion coming form the home congregation. Many families simply cannot afford this, especially in our rural diocese."
