| Towards Effective Anglican Mission (TEAM) |
| Meeting March 7-14 at the Birchwood Conference Centre near Johannesburg, TEAM welcomed more than 400 people from 30 of the Anglican Communion's 38 provinces to review the church's response to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Dr. Debby Watson told the TEAM conference March 11 that when she talks with poor children about why schools are important to them, they tell her that they make friends and happy memories in school, that school feeds them and gives them hope, and that they think school can help them not be poor. South Africa's president Thabo Mbeki reinforced his dedication to continuing partnership between his government and the Anglican Church during a March 9 meeting with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams, and Archbishop Njongonkulu Ndungane of Southern Africa. The strategies embodied in the Millennium Development Goals are the focus of an international conference titled "Towards Effective Anglican Mission." Known by its acronym TEAM, the week-long conference will welcome more than 350 Anglicans to Boksburg in South Africa, beginning with an opening Eucharist March 7 at All Souls Anglican Church in Tsakane.
