The Episcopal News Service is now pursuing several topics as subjects for future in-depth reports. Among those topics are the following three issues:
- AFFORDABLE HOUSING: In what ways are congregations, dioceses and other agencies across the Episcopal Church providing practical and creative solutions to the current crises created by the increasing scarcity of affordable housing in many regions of the United States?
- HIV/AIDS MINISTRY: How are service agencies affiliated with the Episcopal Church coping with reductions in funding from various sources -- cuts that are causing organizations to decrease or eliminate services such as counseling, housing, meals, medications and medical care essential to clients who are adults, children and families living with HIV/AIDS?
- IMMIGRATION: What are the experiences of Episcopalians as they encounter, assess and engage current trends, policies, and other activities related to immigration into the United States?
The ENS staff will appreciate any and all responses and story leads with regard to the topics above, ideally prior to July 20. These responses will greatly assist ENS in updating and making more comprehensive its current lists of contacts, sources and experts in various fields.
Please send responses to news@episcopalchurch.org including "Call for Comment" in the subject line. Thank you.
