Newell keynoter at Kanuga Pre-Lenten Retreat
[ENS] “Listening for the Heartbeat of God” will be the theme of a pre-Lenten retreat sponsored by Kanuga Conference, Inc, in North Carolina January 30 – February 3, 2005.
Participants will be offered a time to explore deeply their faith journey and move into Lent with a renewed passion for truth and clarity in the midst of our hectic world.
Keynote speaker will be J. Philip Newell, of Edinburgh, Scotland, internationally acclaimed lecturer on Celtic spirituality and author of Listening for the Heartbeat of God and Celtic Benediction. He has also played a leading role in the recovery of the Celtic tradition for today. Newell is currently Writer Theologian for The Cathedral of The Isles on Cumbrae.
The gathering will be coordinated by and the Rev. Brian Prior, rector of the Church of the Resurrection in Spokane, Washington, and Fran McKendree, a musician, keynote speaker, retreat leader, and mentor.
