The Episcopal Bishop of Kansas, the Rt. Rev. Dean E. Wolfe, issued the following statement on the pope's death:
"We in the Episcopal Church join our brothers and sisters in Christ, and people of different faiths around the world, in mourning the passing of Pope John Paul II. The vibrancy of his ministry touched people of all faiths. His commitment to people outside the Christian faith and his deep dedication to peace and justice will be a witness for years to come. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace."
