Posted: Wednesday, October 11, 2006
Wayne Whitson Floyd, Ph.D., has resigned his position as the first director of the Center for Christian Formation at Cathedral College, announced the Rev. Canon Howard R. Anderson, warden of the College.

For the last year and a half, Floyd has served as both director and special consultant to Bishop John B. Chane of Washington on matters related to the formation of those called to lay and ordained ministries.

Prior to joining the center, Floyd served as canon theologian for the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia and as director of its Anglican Center for Theology and Spirituality. He also spent 10 years as a lay theologian in the Diocese of Central Pennsylvania.

Floyd holds a M.Div. and Ph.D. in systematic theology from Emory University in Atlanta. He has taught at Sewanee: University of the South, Tennessee, the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, and Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

"While we will miss Wayne's presence and work in our midst," Anderson said. “we wish him all God's blessings as he takes the next steps in his ministry."
