Louisiana communicator Ann Ball moves to disaster response position

Posted: Thursday, November 30, 2006
Ann Ball, the longest-serving editor of "Churchwork" in the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana, has resigned to join Louisiana's Office of Disaster Response as a case manager.

In her new position, Ball will assist New Orleanians who need help returning to their homes after Hurricane Katrina struck in August of 2005.

Ball said that nearly her entire professional career has been spent as editor of the award-winning publication. She has led the paper for 26 years of its 56-year existence. However, her decision to leave came after Katrina struck, as she felt as though she "was not doing enough to help" because of her communication commitments.
