ENGLAND: Women Bishops Legislative Drafting Group announced

The Archbishops' Council of the Church of England has agreed the membership of the legislative drafting group to consider proposals for allowing women to be consecrated as bishops. The drafting group was called for in a motion carried by the General Synod in July 2006.

The members of the Women Bishops Legislative Drafting Group will be:

The Rt. Rev. Nigel McCulloch, Bishop of Manchester (chair)

The Ven. Donald Allister, Archdeacon of Chester

The Rev. Jonathan Baker

The Rt. Worshipful Dr. Sheila Cameron, Dean of the Arches

The Very Rev. Vivienne Faull, Dean of Leicester

Dr. Paula Gooder

Margaret Swinson

Sister Anne Williams

The Rt. Rev. Trevor Willmott, Bishop of Basingstoke
