CLEVELAND, Ohio: Trinity dean holds photo exhibit
The Rev. Tracey Lind, dean of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Cleveland, spent several weeks in 2004 in the Holy Land, first with a group of Episcopal and Anglican Cathedral deans and then as a guest of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland. During her trip, Lind, an accomplished photographer, made hundreds of pictures showing the people and places of Israel and Palestine. The result of Lind's photography is now in the Gallery at Trinity Commons through February 11; an artist's reception will be held on January 11 from 5-7 p.m. Called Holy Ground, the exhibit, which will travel to St. Mark's Cathedral in Seattle when it closes in Cleveland, consists of 23 single images and eight sets of paired images. Some of the images already have a permanent home at Christ Church Cathedral in New Orleans.

NEW YORK CITY: Awakening the Dreamer
Holy Apostles in New York City will be co-hosting a symposium on environmental sustainability called "Awakening the Dreamer" on January 13 from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The program looks at the assumptions that underline modern industrial culture and aims to help envision a different way of moving forward that is grounded in social justice, care for creation and spiritual practice.
The program, which has been held all around the country, was developed by the Pachamama Alliance, an organization that began 10 years ago to work with the needs of indigenous cultures and environments in the Amazon, and brings to bear some of that perspective on the global predicament. It promises to be a disturbing, educational, interactive, inspiring day, and to draw people from all over the city. The cost will be $25, which includes lunch. Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Shori will be the celebrant and preacher at the Annual Bronx wide Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration on Monday, January 15, 2007 at 10 am at St. Ann's Episcopal Church, 295 St. Ann's Ave., Bronx, New York.
The service will be followed by a meal in the St. Ann's parish hall.
St. Ann's church and graveyard are land marked historical sites. Each year, the parishes in the three Bronx Interparish Councils(IPC)of the Episcopal Diocese of New York gather together to give thanks for the life and ministry of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The 2007 Service will be hosted by the South Bronx IPC.

United States which was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and spawned the Oscar-winning film.
Recording artist Bomani Armah will lead an innovative presentation using hip-hop music and other elements of popular culture as a tool for positive change. WASHINGTON, D.C.: Cathedral College of Preachers features Michael Battle
"Entrusting the Message of Reconciliation" is the theme of the conference at the Cathedral College of Preachers featuring the Rev. Michael Battle, associate professor of theology at Virginia Theological Seminary.
The January 15-19 conference at the Cathedral College of Washington National Cathedral will focus on the skills and content given by Jesus to entrust the message of reconciliation on three levels: personal, ecclesial and global. Through these three levels, and using exemplars like Desmond Tutu, participants will learn to practice and preach a spirituality of reconciliation so that in the end, a spirituality of reconciliation exemplified by Jesus takes over. The first national stewardship event of 2007 will take place January 21 – 25 in New Orleans at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center and will be a bit different from previous conferences. Participants
will focus on the theology, practice and significance of "offering." Something important is happening when offering plates are passed and presented. Questions as to precisely what that is, why we do it, and how does it speak to our contemporary culture are just a few of the questions to
be addressed. Speakers will begin with God's first instructions to ancient Israel, then trace, to the present, the evolution of teaching and liturgical practices involving offerings. NEW YORK CITY: Trinity Institute’s 37th National Theological Conference
Trinity Church Wall Street will present Trinity Institute's 37th National Theological Conference, "God's Unfinished Future: Why it Matters Now" January 22-24. The conference will explore, with theologians Jürgen Moltmann, the Rev. Barbara Rossing, the Rev. Peter J. Gomes, and James Carroll, the Christian perspective on the biblical picture of God's purpose, the fate of the individual soul, universal reconciliation, and the ecological transformation of the cosmos. Conference participation is open to clergy and lay persons and can be attended onsite at Trinity Church, at partner sites located throughout the U.S., and online at trinitywallstreet.org.

Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori and President of the House of Deputies Bonnie Anderson will attend the 27th Assembly of the Episcopal Urban Caucus, February 7-10, at the Holiday Inn Brownstone in Raleigh, North Carolina.
A focal point of this year's gathering, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), comes out of the 2006 General Convention initiatives. The assembly will also explore a process for Truth and Reconciliation and Prevention of Violence and will view the documentary film, "Traces of the Trade." The Rev. Michael B. The African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the first black Episcopal Church in the United States, will celebrate the life and ministry of the Rev. Absalom Jones, its first rector and the first black priest in the Episcopal Church, on February 11 at 10 a.m. The guest preacher will be Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori. The Holy Eucharist will be celebrated on the original altar (table) used by Jones during the 18th century.

St. Thomas' Church, Whitemarsh, invites you to Amahl and the Night Visitors, Sunday, January 21, at 4 p.m.
Amahl and The Night Visitors tells the tale of a poor and crippled shepherd boy who encounters the Three Kings on their journey to Bethlehem to visit the baby Jesus. He is healed when he gives his crutch to the Kings to take as a present for the baby boy king. This classic piece will be performed by Rebecca Carr, Jeremy Slavin, Eric Werner, John Wentz, Kevin Delaney, Jonathan Price and members of the St. Thomas' Church, Whitemarsh adult choir, accompanied by instrumentalists.
A free will offering will be taken and a reception will follow.
