The first national stewardship event of 2007 will take place January 21 – 25 in New Orleans at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center and will be a bit different from previous conferences. Participants
will focus on the theology, practice and significance of "offering." Something important is happening when offering plates are passed and presented. Questions as to precisely what that is, why we do it, and how does it speak to our contemporary culture are just a few of the questions to
be addressed. Speakers will begin with God's first instructions to ancient Israel, then trace, to the present, the evolution of teaching and liturgical practices involving offerings. Content and activities have been designed to be of value to clergy and lay leaders, as will as educators and youth leaders and anyone who delights in giving their imagination free reign.
