Christine Donovan named Bishop's Deputy for Public Affairs in New York diocese

[Episcopal News Service]  Bishop Mark Sisk of the Episcopal Diocese of New York named Christine Evangelides Donovan to the newly created position of Bishop's Deputy for Public Affairs, effective January 2.

In this position, Donovan assists Sisk in expressing a moderate Christian perspective on the issues and concerns of the wider world. She is also responsible for assisting in developing and maintaining relationships with business and civic organizations. Donovan serves as chief advisor on matters relating to public issues and also oversees the communications office.

Prior to joining the Diocese of New York, Donovan was a consultant in retention marketing for The New York Times.

Donovan holds a MBA in marketing and finance from the Kellogg Graduate School of management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and a BA in art history from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

She and her husband Ted reside in the Morningside Heights area of New York City with their daughter Alexandra and attend the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest.
