Establish these guidelines for genetic research and interventions: It is morally acceptable, in principle, to engage in experimental somatic cell human gene transfer for therapeutic purposes. All experimental genetic interventions in human beings must meet ethical standards. (GC 2003)
Resolve to support the choice to donate embryos, after in vitro fertilization; urge the U.S. government to authorize funding for medical research on human embryonic stem cells and provide for and oversight for all research that involves stem cells (GC 2003)
Reject conception for the purpose of providing fetal tissue for therapeutic or medical research usage. (GC 1991)
Affirm living will as a beneficial document. (GC 1991)
Approve organ, blood, and tissue donations. (GC 1982)
Approve in vitro fertilization. (GC 1982)
