Grassroots Organizing
The Episcopal Public Policy Network (EPPN) is housed in the Office of Government Relations. The EPPN brings the positions of the Episcopal Church to our nation’s lawmakers. Through the grassroots organizing efforts of the EPPN, interns will have the chance to help recruit, engage, and mobilize Episcopalians around issues including international peace and justice, human rights, poverty, hunger, health care, civil rights, the environment, racism, and issues involving women and children. Interns will assist the grassroots coordinator by maintaining member records and conducting background research to educate network members.

Legislative Support
Interns will work closely with the Government Relations staff to lobby government leaders, work with media, build relationships with Members of Congress and staff, and work with both religious and secular coalitions to further the Church’s positions. Interns will provide the domestic and international policy analysts with necessary support including but not limited to tracking legislation, attending committee hearings, and research for preparing issue fact sheets. This experience allows interns to learn effective advocacy tools first hand.

Administrative Support
Administrative responsibilities are essential to the daily function of the office. Interns should expect to make copies, fax documents, answer phones, assist in large mailings, as well as maintain incoming and outgoing correspondence.
