One of every six children in our rich nation lives in poverty. Every 35 seconds, a child is confirmed as a victim of abuse or neglect. More than 9 million children lack health insurance. This conference will offer substantive information about the urgent plight of children in our nation today, explore the history, practice, and theology of the church as it relates to children and child advocacy, and engage participants in developing a prophetic and pastoral voice for preaching on children’s needs and our call to respond. This conference will prepare you for observing the Children’s Sabbath in October.
