St. Paul's Episcopal Church will be holding a U2charist Service on November 18th, 2006, at 7pm to make people aware of the UN's Millennium Development Goals (MDG's).
A U2charist is an Episcopal Eucharist service that features the music of the rock band U2 and a message about God's call to rally around the Millennium Development Goals as developed by the United Nations in 2000. The U2charist is St. Paul's way of reaching out to the people in its congregation and the larger community, especially young people.
Led by the Global MDG ambassador, Bono, U2 is calling people worldwide to a deeper faith and engagement with God's mission. The U2charist seeks to be an extension of this ministry with all proceeds going to Episcopal Relief and Development, a humanitarian organization dedicated to achieving the MDG's.
All are welcome on November 18th, 2006 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Salem, Oregon for an evening of worship through U2 music, devotion, spoken word, prayer and Holy Communion at 7pm.
"The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have too much...it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little." Franklin Delano Roosevelt
