Conference keynoter: Deirdre Good, professor in the department of New Testament, General Theological Seminary. Prof. Good will focus on how we read, understand and interpret the Bible. She will practice Learner-Centered Teaching, which pays special attention to what learners have to say.  She holds a doctorate of theology from the Harvard University Divinity School and her latest book is Jesus’ Family Values

Staff includes Chris Lynn and the Rev. Lisa Flores, coordinators; the Rev. Suzanne Guthrie, chaplain; Helen Barron, resource center; Friends of the Groom, Christian theatre group; workshop leaders from many states. Julia Huttar Bailey will be the music leader.

Workshops, theme-related sessions, soul nourishment

In addition to plenary programs with keynote addresses by Deirdre Good, participants have several choices during workshop sessions. Another option is to attend training programs for (re)certification in leading Godly Play, EfM, DOCC or TLB.

Four kinds of programs will be offered at every 90-minute workshop period: 101 options designed for newcomers and open to all; 201 options designed for experience Christian educators and open to all; theme-related, in response to the conference theme of how we read, understand and interpret the Bible; and soul nourishment to help us tend to our own souls.
