The Episcopal Church : General Convention 2003
Legislation

When our representatives gather in General Convention they take council together through a legislative process. The legislative process begins with resolutions that are proposed by Deputies, Bishops, Committees, Commissions, Agencies, Boards, Provinces and Dioceses of the Episcopal Church.

In our polity the resolutions of the General Convention when adopted by the House of Deputies (lay and clergy) and the House of Bishops in the same form become the Acts of the General Convention and govern the way we as a community of believers agree to live our understanding of the Christian faith.
