Afghanistan, Kabul

HOPE worldwide was founded in response to the Scriptures, which call us to have the heart of Jesus by serving the poor and needy throughout the world. We began in 1991 with three small local programs.  Today HOPE worldwide operates on every inhabited continent, serving more than one million people annually.

We are proud of our history of collaboration. Our valued relationship with the International Churches of Christ dates from our founding, and our global network has grown to include countless individuals and organizations who are our valued partners in the fight against poverty.

HOPE worldwide has just received extended funding for an emergency department, training program here in Kabul.  HOPE is now opening a new 7-bed emergency/ outpatient department at Malalai Hospital and the physicians and nurses selected for management positions in this area are to be trained in triage skills, evaluation and stabilization of critical patients, etc.  We see about 80-100 routine outpatients/day (mostly labor, miscarriage, etc.) and 10 ob/gyn emergencies (abruption, previa, ruptured ectopic, eclamptic, etc.)

The position is funded for 2-1/2 months - $3,000 month with travel expenses covered (up to $2500).  This training is expected to begin mid to late January.
