Episcopal Asiamerica Ministry Women's Convocation was organized in Fife, Washington during the Episcopal Asiamerica Ministry Consultation in August 1997. EAM is a program of the Episcopal Church to assist in the development of Asian and Pacific Islander ministries in partnership with the Episcopal Dioceses. Deriving it's purpose from that of EAM, the EAM Women's Convocation endeavors to nurture and support women of Asian and Pacific Island backgrounds to assist them in exercising full membership participation in the life of the Episcopal Church. They meet annually in conjunction with the EAM Consultation at which time education and leadership workshops are provided. Membership is open to women who are connected to EAM and members represent their respective ethnic convocations: Chinese, Japanese, Korea, Filipino, Vietnamese, Cambodian, and women from the South Indian and Mar Toma Churches. We have adopted the circular model of leadership.
