The first and primary context in which our catechetical ministry of formation, education, and instruction should take place is the home, that place in which persons reside alone or in groups, related by blood or by commitment.
In our contemporary society, as central as the home is, it is also limited in its influence. Schools have at the same time increased in their influence.
Participation in the life of a congregation is essential to being Christian. Community assumes a sharing of beliefs, attitudes, and values; a sharing of experience.
