Event Description: Keynote Speaker
Lauren Winner, author of Girl Meets God, Mudhouse Sabbath and Real Sex: The Naked Truth about Chastity AND a panel discussion featuring Martin Marty and others.

Panelists
Dr. Martin Marty is the Fairfax M. Cone Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of the History of Modern Christianity in the Divinity School, University of Chicago, and has taught in the Divinity School, the Department of History, and the Committee on the History of Culture since 1963.   

James Echols began his presidency of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago in 1997. From 1982-97, he was on the faculty of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP), teaching primarily in the area of American Church History. While at Philadelphia, Echols was granted tenure and served as its dean from 1991-97.   

Ellen Wondra is Seabury's Professor of Theology and Ethics. She earned her B.A. in Religion from Pomona College in 1972, her M.Div. from Church Divinity School of the Pacific in 1976, and her Ph.D. in Christian Theology from the Divinity School of the University of Chicago in 1991.   



Information You Need to Know:


New Campus Ministries Pre-conference
Prior to the joint Episcopal-Lutheran Campus Ministers’ conference at the University of Chicago, the Office for Young Adult and Higher Education Ministries (YAHEM) is offering a special pre-conference for new campus ministers..  The YAHEM office is covering the costs for this pre-conference and  it is a one time offer for new campus ministers only and who have never before been able to attend.  To register for the pre-conference indicate by ticking the appropriate box when you register online.  If you have already registered please confirm your name with Luke (lfodor@episcopalchurch.org) .  The pre-conference will begin at 1:30pm on June 22nd and conclude with lunch on the 23rd.   Please arrive between noon and 1:00pm to promptly begin at 1:30pm.  You will be able to pick up your keys at the Max Palevsky Central (Yellow building), 1101 East 56th.
After you have picked up your keys proceed to the purple building to sign in with us.

Registration
Please fill out the registration form on line. You may choose to pay for your registration with a credit card, or mail us a check for the entire amount as soon as you can, but postmarked no later than May 24th. Note that there is a late fee of $50.00 after that date. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MAY 31TH. Help us to keep things speedier and simpler, if at all possible, please send in the entire payment with your registration.

Late Fee
A late fee of $50.00 must be added onto your registration form after May 24th, 2004. University of Chicago has become very stringent on requiring registration totals by this date for room space and rate guarantees.

Airport Arrivals on June 23
Shuttle buses to University of Chicago will be provided on Thursday, June 23th from MidwayAirport at noon and at 3:00 pm. Look for a Davidsmeyer school bus, and a small sign in the window saying ELCA/Episcopal Campus Ministry.

Conference Check-in
From noon to 5 PM you may check in at on the west side of campus. There is a turn-around driveway for unloading. Here you will settle up any outstanding fees, receive your swipe key, meal card and parking pass if needed.

Workshops
Workshops will be presented on Friday afternoon from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Meals
Unless otherwise noted, all meals will be served in the Student Union building.

Free Time
Free time is provided after the noon meal on Saturday. We will have a sign board where groups may announce their plans and invite others to join them. We will provide you with a short list of some ideas at the conference.

Social Hours
Arrangements are being made for social hour snacks and beverages. Costs are yet to be determined.

Costs
Double occupancy $347 (includes accommodations and meals)
Single occupancy $499 (includes accommodations and meals)
Commuter $125 (Includes banquet; all other meals available on a cash basis)
