Indianapolis, IN (Exodus Refugee Immigration Inc.)

Exodus Refugee Immigration works with refugees, asylees and certified victims of human trafficking—worldwide victims of persecution, injustice and war— to establish self-sufficient lives in freedom and sanctuary for themselves and their families in Indiana. Exodus is an affiliate of Episcopal Migration Ministries.  More than 350 refugees are resettled through Exodus each year.

Housing:  A private room in a home; partial food stipend provided

Hours/wk:  40 hours with designated time for supervision, parish involvement, reflection and discernment

Transportation:  Intern with own personal car would be provided mileage reimbursement.  Public transportation is minimal in Indianapolis.  Bus pass provided.

Type of Work:  Interns will engage in full-time work providing supportive services to newly arrived refugees as a part of a dynamic staff and volunteer team.  Interns will have the opportunity to assist with Language and Culture classes, provide tutoring, assist with apartment set-up, provide case management support, assist with client transportation to appointments, assist with employment services, assist with grant research and fundraising activities and be involved in the over all programmatic life of the agency.

Parish Context:  Interns will have opportunities to become actively involved in the life of a local parish in the Diocese of Indianapolis.
