Lutheran Social Services of Northern New England is one of several affiliate corporations of Lutheran Social Services of  New England, all of which share the common mission to “Serve and Care for People in Need in Response to Christ’s Love.” In New Hampshire as in other places we are “Called to Common Mission” with the Episcopal Church to resettle refugees in partnership with Episcopal Migration Ministries, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, and Church World Service. ExpensesTransportation, food, and personal expenses are the responsibility of the intern. 

Type of Work: Assist care managers in the provision of direct services to refugees, and volunteer/sponsorship development in parishes and congregations.

Parish Context: Participate in the parish life of one of several Concord area Episcopal congregations; will be included in Diocesan meetings pertaining to refugee resettlement and/or social ministry outreach projects.

Location: Main office in Concord, NH.  Refugee resettlement takes place in Concord and other towns in New Hampshire.  Possible opportunity in Portland, Maine for hearing impaired to work in deaf services group home.

Hours: Full-time (40 hrs/wk) average; nature of work requires flexibility to serve refugees at various hours, including nights and weekends.  Designated time set aside for supervision, mentoring, and discernment.
