Kentucky Refugee Ministries offers non-paid young adult internships for 6-8 week terms. Short-term internships provide young adults with an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about refugee resettlement, advocacy and program development in an experiential setting. This internship is excellent preparation for discernment of careers in ministry, social service, international affairs and a host of related fields.

Housing: Private room in a parishioner’s home; partial food stipend provided.
Hours/wk: 40 hours with designated time for parish involvement, reflection and discernment.
Transportation: Public Transportation pass provided; intern with own personal car would be provided with mileage.
Type of work: S.I.P intern will provide resettlement support for newly arrived refugees by working with staff and volunteers. Opportunities include English tutoring, youth services, case management support, advocacy, fundraising, and church development.
Parish Context: Actively involved in the life of the host parish or another parish in the Diocese of Kentucky in Louisville, KY.
