The Episcopal Urban Intern
Program, founded in 1991, recruits young adults from across the country to work
full-time in community service agencies, live together in Christian community,
and develop their spiritual lives. The
program is designed for those in vocational discernment, both lay and ordained,
for those seeking to give a year of service to others, and for those seeking
community work experience with a Christian perspective. The program is housed at Holy Faith Episcopal
Church, a tri-lingual, multicultural congregation in Los
Angeles. The
application deadline is April 15.

Age Range: 21 years of age and older with 4 or more years of post-high
school work experience or a college degree
Medical Insurance Coverage: Medical and dental insurance
Type of Housing Provided: Shared living space in rectory of Holy
Faith
Type of Work/Volunteer Placements: EUIP interns work in the Los
Angeles community through community service
agencies. Interns work full-time as case
managers and service providers with people dealing with learning disabilities,
homelessness, violence, and hunger.
Parish Context: Holy Faith is a tri-lingual, multicultural
congregation with members from Latin America, the Caribbean,
western Africa, and the United
States.
Interns participate actively in the life of the church and the
community.

Community Life: Interns live together in intentional Christian
community, sharing fellowship, prayer, and theological reflection. Retreats and quiet days are spaced throughout
the year.
Stipend: $575 per month

Length of Program: 3rd weekend of August through
mid-August of the following year
Relocation Allowance: On successful completion of the program,
interns receive a bonus equal to half of their usual stipend.
