Dunbar, who graduated in 1985 with the first matriculating class from the school for deacons in the Diocese of Northwest Texas, has extensive experience with Christian formation.  She was director of Education and Program at St. Nicholas in Dallas, and currently she works at the diocesan level as Canon Missioner for Christian Formation and Youth Ministries, while assisting at the diocesan Resource Center.

Dunbar says all three Nurture Project networks are well-established and make a good model for any type of network.  Communication is the most important element, she notes. “even more than program.  We have a great exchange of ideas and energy.  Even the smallest churches have important things to say.”

“We use the most current communication we can,” Dunbar continued.  “It’s very electronic. We’re learning that from the kids we work with.”
