The program that has emerged after many discussions and long testing is divided into three two-year segments: The Celebration of Manhood and Womanhood (Rite-13), Journey to Adulthood (J2A), and Young Adults in the Church (YAC). The first segment derives its name from a new liturgical rite that acknowledges God's gift of manhood and womanhood. Celebrated on or near the thirteenth birthday, the transitions of puberty are framed with this rite.
In the second segment, youth leaders, clergy, and specialists begin the two-year process of training the young people in the skills of adulthood.
In the final segment, the young adults are ready to exercise their skills in service to the church. In our experience, these young adults are not only prepared to serve in the church, they are more than willing!
