The setting of a congregation’s youth group is unique and it has unique advantages over other settings for the support and development of young people. These are much needed in responding to HIV/AIDS. Especially when it is predicted that young people ages fifteen to twenty-one are at the highest risk for contracting HIV. This prediction persists even though many schools are providing HIV/AIDS prevention education.
It has been shown that the most important factors in whether HIV/AIDS education is successful are the believability of the educator, and the level of trust the audience has for the presenter. Credibility is essential.
