Youth ministry is tough work. We all know that. We have been called to ministries that face new challenges with every generation and are influenced by the swirling currents of pop culture. However, there is something that remains constant amid those aspects of youth ministry that often seem chaotic and overwhelming: Our spirits are being renewed by God day by day.

The 2006 Youth Worker Summit gathered youth ministry leaders from judicatories and congregations across the country in an ecumenical setting to both hear and speak the words, “…we do not lose heart.” (2 Corinthians 4:1 NRSV) These are words of reassurance, renewal, strength, and hope for us as we serve young people and their families in many different contexts.
