WAYS TO BEGIN: Gather for coffee and conversation before moving to a circle for today's lesson.

THE THEME: Being a Saint of God.

THE STORY: Luke 6:20-36 or Matt. 5:1-12. "The Beatitudes". Have someone read one of the passages aloud. You may wish from both Gospels and compare the two readings.

SOME QUESTIONS TO TALK ABOUT:

1. "Blessed" can be translated as "happy". How do you understand each of the beatitudes? What do you think Jesus is trying to teach us here?
2. What makes you happy? Share by each person offering at least three things that make them happy.
3. What, to you, are the characteristics of sainthood?
4. Who do you consider to be a saint?
5. All Saints Day along with the Easter Vigil, the Day of Pentecost and the Feast of the Baptism of Jesus are the traditional times for Baptisms. Why do you think these days have been picked for Baptism? Discuss and explain your answers.

End with the Collect for the day.
