WAYS TO BEGIN: Gather for coffee. Discuss any plans you might have for celebrating today's Children's Sabbath. Then move to your circle for the lesson.

THE THEME: It is all right to pester God for what you need or others need.

THE STORY: Luke 18:1-8a Have someone read the story aloud.

SOME QUESTIONS TO TALK ABOUT:

1. What do you think Jesus is trying to teach us in this passage?
2. What are things you feel comfortable "begging" God for?
3. Does persistence and repetition make a difference?
4. The theme of this year's Children's Sabbath is "Write the Vision: Creating Communities of Shalom for All Children.".
5. What do you think is needed in your community to ensure a healthy and safe environment for our children?. 6. Who might you "pester" to make your concerns heard and responded to?
7. Is praying for your concerns enough?
8. As a church, what do you feel called to do?

End the class by praying for this nation's children and the children of the world. Be specific about the needs you recognize.
