Lesson Plans for Adults, Pentecost 15
Year C, Proper 19 (BCP pg. 182 or pg. 233), Exodus 32:1,7-14; Psalm 51:1-18 or 1-11; 1 Timothy 1:12-17; Luke 15:1-10

WAYS TO BEGIN: Greet everyone and spend time talking together over

coffee or some simple refreshments. Then move to a circle.

THE THEME: The Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin...seek, find and rejoice!

THE STORY: Luke 15:1-10 Have someone read the lesson aloud.

SOME QUESTIONS TO TALK ABOUT:

1. What emotions do you normally feel when you loose something of value?
2. What is your response if the object of value is found?
3. Who, in our society, do you believe, is lost?
4. What should be the response of our congregation towards those we think are lost? How can we respond without risking paternalism or misplaced pride?
5. Have you ever felt lost? How did you overcome this feeling or how were you "sought out and found"?
6. How would you sum up what Jesus is trying to teach through these two parables?

End with the Collect for the day.
