This conference-- set in the Asia-Pacific region to explore current and future directions across the world in higher education for institutions shaped by Anglican faith and practice that now function to serve multi-cultural, globally-interactive societies--was a splendid and historic opportunity for CUAC members to experience Anglican higher education contexts in Hong Kong and Guangzhou.

Triennial Conferences - History
CUAC meets as an international association every three years. Delegates to the conference are selected by the institutions that are contributing members of CUAC. Each conference has a theme and an organizational intent.
- The First Triennial Conference was held in Canterbury, UK, in 1993, and established the goals and structure of the association.
- The Second Conference in 1996 at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, India drew representatives of over 60 Anglican-related institutions, and began to address the global agenda of CUAC.
- The Third conference in 1999 at Trinity College, Toronto, Canada, saw over 120 delegates from over 60 institutions coming together under the theme “Forward together For the Common Good”.
- The Fourth Conference held at Rikkyo University in Tokyo, Japan, in 2002 explored the “Role of a Christian University in a Secular and Multifaith Society.”
- The Fifth Triennial took place in Canterbury and York, England on 17-24 June, 2005. The topic of the Conference is “CUAC across the Communion.... Learning through each other’s living.”
- The Sixth Triennial took Place on the campus of Chung Chi College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, PRC. The title of the Conference was "Excellence, Character, Service." It drew over 100 delegates from the Asia, Africa, North America, the Caribbean and Europe. See above for a full report of the conference from participant, Dr. Bruce Chilton of Bard College.
