"It is possible to paint an icon of Christ and the saints as a result of the Incarnation, so in many ways an icon of Christ and the Mother of God is the 'Ur' icon. I am particularly fond of the icons of tenderness because they not only show a mother's tenderness towards her child, but also as the child touches His mother, they show the Creator's tenderness towards His Creation." – Suzanne Schleck
