Asia

In Asia, some of the major issues facing children involve poverty, child labour and the right to an education. For cultural and economic reasons, millions of children have to work to supplement their family income in the world. Many millions more work as domestic servants in homes, in unsafe factories and on plantations without ever going to school or being able to live under the love, care and protection of their family. Under the Rights of the Child, children have the right to freedom from “economic exploitation and from performing any work that is likely to be hazardous or to interfere with the child’s education, or to be harmful to the child’s health or physical, mental, spiritual, moral or social development.”
