The Need for Action

"Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing."

- 1 Peter 3:8-9

Both the children and the adults stressed one major theme: the nations of the world must take immediate action; mere words are not enough.

Of course, the world’s leaders must take action. Governments - all governments - must reexamine their priorities. They must abandon their unjust, exploitative, and militaristic practices for those that favor justice, freedom, and peace. But other people must take action, too. In fact, all people must take action, for it is the responsibility of all the world’s citizens, young and old alike, to work for positive change, for a world that will be truly fit for children.

How can you work for change? How can your parents work for change? How can your parish work for change? Talk about your ideas with your family. Write a letter to Treasure Bear sharing them.
