VTS appoints Jim Palmer as coordinator for hospitality and conferences

[VTS] Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) has announced that Jim Palmer has been named as hospitality and conference coordinator for the school.  Palmer, who has worked as the seminary's receptionist since October 2007, will serve as the primary point person for all bookings, guest housing and room arrangements, catering needs and billing.

"Since Jim Palmer has been working as receptionist, everyone has grown to love his delightful manner, warm smile, and efficient organization," said the Very Rev.  Ian Markham, dean and president. "So I am pleased to announce Jim's promotion to hospitality and conference coordinator."

Prior to his arrival at VTS, Palmer worked for more than 10 years as the creative director and stylist for Rudy's Barbershop on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, California, specializing in high-profile clientele. Palmer has also served in management positions with Pottery Barn and Urban Outfitters, where he was recognized for outstanding merchandizing leadership.

Originally from Seattle, Washington, Palmer considers Los Angeles his home, where he is a long-distance member of All Saints' Episcopal Church, Beverly Hills. Palmer currently attends the Washington National Cathedral and is actively involved in VTS' S.P.I.R.I.T. planning committee. Palmer recently completed his first year of the Education for Ministry Program (EFM) and last year went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land through St. George's College, Jerusalem. Palmer earned a degree in Cosmetology Design and is a graduate of the Master Stylist Program.
