St. John's Episcopal School in Rancho Santa Margarita earns preschool accreditation

[Episcopal News Service] St. John's Episcopal School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, is one of the first early childhood programs in the country to earn accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

"We are proud to have earned this mark of quality from NAEYC, and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professional standards," said Denise Meena, preschool director, in a news release. "NAEYC Accreditation lets the families in our community know that children in our program are getting the best care and early learning experiences possible."

Before the on-site visit by NAEYC assessors, St. John's Preschool went through an extensive self-study process, measuring its program and services against the 10 NAEYC early childhood program standards and more than 400 related accreditation criteria, according to the release.

"This accreditation is a sign that St. John's Episcopal School's Preschool is a leader in a national effort to invest in high-quality early childhood education," said Mark Ginsberg, Ph.D., NAEYC executive director.

Founded in 1988, St. John's Episcopal School educates more than 750 children in preschool through eighth grade.
