World Mission Sunday 2002
Companionship in Mission
The various ways and means to do world mission with others for others is the theme for this set of materials. Use these resources to find out about the joys and challenges of doing world mission to help you get started, or to make a present world mission relationship a more enriching experience.

All of the resources below are designed either to provide information or to support opportunities for reflection on how companionship in mission might take shape for you. Some of these items offer facts about the Anglican Communion that help you discern with whom you or your diocese would like to establish a relationship. Some items are offered as theological and spiritual food for thought to support your own praying and thinking about what companionship in mission might mean for you, your parish and your diocese. Enjoy the exploration!

World Mission Sunday 2000 Letter

Resources
Lectionary and Theme
We believe that this is special opportunity to prayerfully and actively reflect upon and engage in world mission.
Special Text Resource I: Sermon
Special Text Resource II: Homiletical Note
Prof. Robert D. Hughes of the School of Theology at the University of South has offered his own brief but substantive insights on the scripture readings for World Mission Sunday. Go to this item not only for sermon preparation, but also to get a good conversation starter for an adult education forum.
Special Text Resources III: Scripture For The Journey
Bringing together word themes and Bible passages, this resource offers an opportunity to bring prayer and meditation to the World Mission Sunday worship experience. It is suitable for use as a group activity or as a personal spiritual practice.
Special Text Resources IV: Companionship In Action
"Companions make pilgrimage a success." This was the response we had when we read El Camino, a story originally printed in the November 2001 issue of The Epistle a monthly newsletter published by St. James Episcopal Church, New York, New York. Peter Gray, a student attending Trinity School, New York City and a parishioner of St. James, shares with truth and humor his experiences of being part of parish-sponsored pilgrimage to Spain. We thank St. James for permitting us to reprint the story here.
