Rogation Sunday is topic of May 17 bulletin inserts

[Episcopal News Service] Rogationtide, the celebration of God's bounty and the fruitfulness of the earth on the sixth Sunday of Easter and the days leading up to the Day of Ascension, is gaining new popularity as increasing numbers of Episcopal churches sponsor or host community garden projects, both to raise healthy food and to provide for those who can't afford to buy fresh produce. Episcopal Life Weekly bulletin inserts for May 17 trace the purpose of Rogation Days, drawing from the writings of 17th-century priest and poet George Herbert.
