
ROCHESTER: Diocese announces five nominees for eighth bishop
The nominees are:
- The Rev. Stephen Fales, 55, rector of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Carmel, Indiana;
- The Rev. Bruce Gray, 47, rector of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Whittier, California;
- The Rev. Dr. Richard Murphy, 62, rector of St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Santa Fe, New Mexico;
- The Rev. Dr. Robert "Odie" Odierna, 58, rector of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Nashua, New Hampshire; and
- The Rev Dr. Prince Singh, 45, rector of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.

Additional nominations by petition will be accepted until December 4. The candidates will visit the diocese January 21-25, 2008 in a series of "walkabouts." The election will be held February 2, 2008 and the new bishop will be consecrated May 31, 2008 at the Eastman Theater at the University of Rochester.
With a membership of 13,000, the Diocese of Rochester serves eight counties in the Finger Lakes region of New York in 52 congregations and seven chapels.
