ATLANTA: Diocese publishes meditations on global poverty for Advent, Christmas seasons

[Diocese of Atlanta] "Love Made Manifest: Advent & Christmas Meditations on Global Poverty" is a 40-page booklet published by the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta's Millennium Development Goals Task Force. The booklet can be accessed in PDF format, both in its entirety and in daily installments, here.

Reflections are written for each day of the Advent and Christmas seasons by a diverse team of writers, "from teens and seniors and everything in between, from parishes large and small in middle and north Georgia, and from and our missionaries around the globe," says its editor, the Rev. Canon Debbie Shew, diocesan canon for community ministries. "It celebrates what God is up to in our midst."

Shew, who is a member of the board for Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation, said the central message of the publication turned out to be "God is faithful, always and everywhere, and we are privileged to share in God's work."

The booklet is a gift from the Diocese of Atlanta. Donations are welcomed and may be made to the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta MDG Fund, 2744 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30305. Donations will be shared with Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation and Episcopal Relief and Development's MDG Inspiration Fund.
