ENGLAND: Anglican covenant Design Group meets in London

[ACNS] The Anglican covenant Design Group, chaired by the Archbishop Drexel Gomez of the West Indies, is currently meeting at the Anglican Communion Office in London. Provinces represented on the Design Group are: Canada, England, Indian Ocean, Southeast Asia, Southern Africa, United States, Wales, West Africa, West Indies, as well as the Diocese of Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Anglican Communion Office and Lambeth Palace staff are also present for the meeting.

The Rev. Canon Gregory Cameron, deputy secretary general of the Anglican Communion and secretary of the Design Group, said, "The focus of this week's meeting is to examine responses to the draft covenant from the provinces and to prepare a subsequent text to move the process forward to the Lambeth Conference and beyond."
