Special exhibition at Jamestown Settlement's theater and special exhibition building places America's first permanent English colony in a global context, portraying a larger world of discovery, strife, expansion, innovation, artistic expression and cultural exchange.
July 21-22. American Indian Intertribal Cultural Festival, Hampton, Virginia
Virginia Indian tribes showcase the various cultures of American Indian nations through a three-day festival.
July 30. Historic Jamestowne First Assembly Day, Jamestown
Living-history programs recount the development of Virginia government at Jamestown from the convening of the first representative assembly in 1619 to the relocation of Virginia government to Williamsburg in 1699. A program discussing the role of the church in 17th-century government also will be presented.
Aug. 20. Historic Jamestowne First African Arrival Day, Jamestown, Colonial Parkway
Special program highlighting the first arrival of Africans to this continent in 1619.
Aug. 24-25. Virginia Black Expo: A Cultural and Commerce Exposition, Hampton Roads Convention Center
The African American Advisory Council in partnership with Thomas McCants Media showcases significant contributions of Africans and African Americans in every area of American society over the past 400 years.
Oct. 21. Virginia Day at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul (the National Cathedral), Washington, D.C.
Episcopalians celebrate at the National Cathedral. Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori along with church and civic officials commemorate the 400th anniversary of the establishment of the Episcopal (Anglican) Church in North America with the founding of the first permanent English settlement at Jamestown.

Nov. 1-3. Jamestown Covenant Renewal and Call to Action, Historic Jamestown
All Saints Day - Thursday, Nov. 1 – Jamestown (on the island) renews the 1997 covenant recognizing the decade 1997-2007 as a Decade of Reconciliation, Remembrance and Renewal.
All Souls Day - Friday, Nov. 2, and continuing on Saturday, Nov. 3 – conference in Williamsburg looks at "The Future of Native American Ministry in the Episcopal Church." Keynote addresses, panel discussions and special guests. Paths Crossing and Mountains and Deserts will meet during the conference. The Youth and Young Adult Gathering also will relocate to Jamestown and Williamsburg for this year only.

Nov. 3. Commemoration of American Indian Month, Historic Jamestown
In observance of American Indian Month, special programs will focus on the contributions of Virginia Indians to Virginia history and culture.
