Things are gearing up at Ephphatha Mission for the Deaf and its home parish of St. Mark's and St. John's in Rochester, New York as they prepare to host the 2008 convention for the National Episcopal Conference of the Deaf (ECD) July 16-19 at the Rochester Institute of Technology and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf.
The ECD is a national organization that promotes the inclusion and empowerment of deaf individuals' worship in their communities. The three-day gathering will include worship, workshops, performances by local and nationally known artists, and a banquet and area tour. All events will be accessible for both deaf and hearing persons.
