An Anglican community approximately 20,000 strong. Mississippi Episcopalians constitute less than 1% of the total population of the State. However, in many ways, they lead the state as witnesses of the Gospel of Christ. Mississippi Episcopalians are particularly involved in the ministry of racial reconciliation, a ministry that has been handed down since the 1960s when the Diocese took an active role in the Civil Rights Movement.
